As Lions we have many world-scale projects such as restoring sight and preventing measles. However, Irish Lions Clubs operate a range of projects that include diabetes screening, a food appeal, support for Guide Dogs, a senior citizens holiday, carers weekends, Message In A Bottle, a variety of youth projects/support, spectacle recycling and much more.
Like all of the 108 Lions Clubs spread throughout Ireland, we try to respond to a wide range of Community needs, such as raising funds for local charities, providing bursaries and scholarships to help with education and donating mini-buses for special needs transport. Our annual food appeal at Christmas provides assistance through Saint Vincent de Paul to local families in need. Raheny Hospice and Don Bosco Care are among the local charities that have benefited from our fund raising efforts.
Some of our other activities include providing financial assistance for environmental projects such as the Bayside Community Association in their creation of a community Orchard, sponsoring football gear for one of Baldoyle United’s underage teams and getting involved in local heritage projects such as the restoration of the Howth Martello Tower and the Eire 6 sign on Howth Head.
Your support helps us to continue our work which is always much needed and even more so following the Covid epidemic. Please rest assured that every penny of funds raised by Lions Clubs goes directly to the charity or community group that we support as all administration costs are borne by the members of each club.
